ESCAPE POD

The Escape Pod is the result of an 8-week senior project for my bachelor's degree in Industrial Design at The University of Kansas. Our class was given the freedom to choose any product in any industry. I chose to make an automotive accessory due to my interest in the automotive world and my love for exploring the American West. I wanted to push the boundaries and come up with an innovative oragami-inspired solution with useful features to make rooftop camping fun and convenient. This concept includes integrated solar panels and an onboard battery pack to power an automated open/close and charge all your devices. A retractable ladder accessory and plenty of organized storage. Pair the functional features with a striking and futuristic design and this product would surely set your overlanding vehicle apart on a campsite at Yellowstone Lake.
